CASSI HAS DIABETES

This is a book we wrote when six year old Cassidy was diagnosed with type I Diabetes. It is meant to be informative and educational in recognizing the symptoms of diabetes at early onset. This book is simply written from our experiences and formatted to be understood by children. We have no statistics nor documentation to base this on, but it seems to be that diabetes has reached epidemic proportions.
About the Author
Cassidy is my eight ("nearly nine") year old grandaughter. We are not experts on the subject of diabetes, just experienced in dealing with it. Cassidy is in third grade. She is a cheerleader, soccer player, writes for the school newspaper, and writes poetry. Cassi is also quite an artist. She even entered a beauty contest. When she grows up she thinks she will probably be a writer or an artist. She is mostly an "A" student. She doesn't like Math! She checks her own sugar levels and gives her own shots. She has adjusted very well to life with diabetes.
