"Lizzy Stratta" is my pen-name. I am a survivor of verbal, emotional, financial and physical abuse.

I am a preacher's daughter, raised in a conservative, Christian household. One day, a deaconness from church sought refuge in our home to keep her husband from molesting their daughter. Rather than seek a divorce, she decided to go back to her husband so that she could pray him into salvation. Instead, he shot her with a handgun and sent her straight to heaven.
Other women in the church were abused and no one corrected their husbands. Rather, we girls were taught that we are second to men and that we are to submit ourselves to our husbands as if they were the Lord. All of us have been abused. This is the story of how I learned that abuse is not God's way. I hope that this book will save you many years of seeking God's permission to live. God loves us. God loves you. God wants you to live in joy and not in fear.
